During Pregnancy, what activities should I do and what should I avoid?

Do not do it. Wait, no, do it! Do not do it! It seems that the list of things you should and should not do during pregnancy only becomes more and more. Here are some important DOS and don'ts:

TO DO

       * Exercise. Light moderate exercise during pregnancy is good for you, to strengthen the back and stomach muscles, improve balance and speed your recovery after childbirth. (More on this in question 4 below).
       * Having sex. If you have a high risk of unwanted pregnancy, and your doctor recommended against it, is sex during pregnancy is safe. Child is protected by amniotic fluid. Especially in later pregnancy, however, avoid lying on your back during sex, the uterus can compress blood vessels in the back of the stomach and leave you light headed or nauseous.
       * Wash your hands before preparing food, before eating, after handling raw meat, and after using the toilet.
       * Clean the house. Unfortunately, most household cleaning products, including bleach, safe for use during pregnancy. Just make sure the room is well ventilated, read the warning label, and avoid mixing chemicals (eg, ammonia and bleach) - good advice for clearing security, if you are pregnant or not.
       * Travel by air - sometimes. American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) says that the second trimester is the safest period for air travel, when you are at low risk of miscarriage or premature birth. Typically, if you have a healthy, uncomplicated pregnancies, there are no special risks associated with commercial air traffic. (ACOG recommends that pregnant women stop flights to 36 weeks of pregnancy.) Make sure to keep hydrated during the flight, drink plenty of fluids, and keep its place on the belt! And whether you travel by car, train, bus or plane, get up and go so often, and be sure to stretch your legs and back.
       * See your dentist. Preventive cleanings and annual exams, a very good idea, during pregnancy, increased hormone levels can cause bleeding gums and irritation. With gum infections have been linked to premature birth, to keep your mouth healthy is important.

NOT TO DO

       * Changing sex cat litter. No, it's not just an excuse to withdraw from unattractive targets; cat feces can transmit the infection called toxoplasmosis, which can lead to serious problems in newborns, including low birth weight, jaundice, mental retardation and seizures.
       * The use of saunas, hot tubs, and tanning booths. Excessive heat can be harmful to the child, and was associated with spinal deformities.
       * Paint. Let someone else paint the nursery, pregnant women should not be exposed to toxic substances and chemicals, including paints and cleaning solvents.
       * Get X-Ray. If you absolutely have to avoid the tests and X-ray mammography during pregnancy, which can be dangerous for your growing child. If you absolutely must be X-Ray, make sure your doctor or dentist knows that you are pregnant, so they can take extra precautions.

Can I Exercise during pregnancy?

Exercise during pregnancy is usually considered safe for most healthy women, and may also contribute to solving some of the discomfort of pregnancy. Some types of exercises that are especially good for pregnant women are walking, swimming, cycling and stationary yoga. American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists recommends that you focus on non-weight-bearing activity and those that do not require a huge amount of balance (because some of them very complex Yoga poses can be before the birth). Wear loose fitting, light clothing in the exercise, get plenty of fluids and not working at the point of exhaustion. When you reach the second and third trimesters, do not do exercises that require lying on your back, and never do an exercise that presents a risk of injury in the abdomen during pregnancy. And always check with your doctor about exercise program before starting work. Some women - such as those with preeclampsia, premature birth, and high blood pressure and heart disease - may be asked not to exercise or go on a very limited physical activity during pregnancy.
