What is a vaginal birth after cesarean (VBAC)?

If you have a cesarean section (also called a cesarean section), before you can deliver your next baby vaginally. This is called vaginal birth after Caesarean, or VBAC.

If you and your doctor agree to attempt VBAC, you have called "trial of labor." This means you are going to go to work to deliver vaginally. But like any job, it is hard to understand VBAC will work. You still need for Caesarean section. Some 4 out of 10 women making the court should have C-section.1
Is a VBAC trial of labor safe to try?

If you are one Caesarean section, VBAC may be a safe option for you. You and your doctor may think about VBAC trial of the workers, if:

       * Do you have only one low, from one side to the scar from a Caesarean section.
       * You already have 2 cesareans before, but you also have a natural birth.
       * The hospital staff and tools to make a quick Caesarean section if necessary.
       * You have a reason for cesarean pregnancy, such as placenta previa.

VBAC is considered safe, if you are over 35, have a large baby or the pregnancy is beyond 40 weeks. But these things are possible to reduce the chance to deliver vaginally.

VBAC is not considered safe if you:

       * Two cesarean section scars and never delivered vaginally before.
       * Three or more cesarean scars.
       * Any scars below, the thin part of your uterus.

What are the advantages of VBAC?

Advantages of VBAC compared with Caesarean section include:

       * Avoiding another scar on uterus. This is important if you are planning a pregnancy in the future, the more scars in the uterus, the greater the likelihood of problems in later pregnancies.
       * More more after birth.
       * The smaller number of days in hospital and shorter in getting home.
       * Reduce the risk of infection.
       * More active role for you and your partner to deliver the birth of your child.
