What is Caesarian section?

What is a caesarean section?

A Caesarean section is the delivery of a baby through a cut (cut) in the mother's abdomen and uterus. This is often called a C-section. In most cases a woman can be awake during the birth and be with her newborn soon afterward.

If you are pregnant, chances are good that you are able to save your child through the birth canal (vaginal birth). But there are cases where a C-section is necessary for the safety of mother or child. So even if you are planning a vaginal birth, it is a good idea to learn about C-section if the unexpected happens.

When a C-section needed?

C-section may be planned or unplanned. In most cases, my doctor Caesarean section because of problems that arise during labor. Reasons, may need an unplanned C-section include:

       * The child shows signs of distress, such as a very fast or slow pulse.
       * The problem with the placenta or the kernel puts the child in danger.
       * The baby is too big to deliver vaginally.

Once the doctor knows about a problem early, they can schedule a C-section. Reasons, you can have a planned C-section include:

In some cases, a woman had a C-section in the past to deliver her next baby through the birth canal. This is called vaginal birth after caesarean (VBAC). If you had a previous C-section, ask your doctor if VBAC might be an option at this time.
